How do you store shaving soap?

Matthew
Baton Rouge, LA

It is very easy to store shaving soap that comes in a wooden bowl container, such as those packaged by D.R. Harris and Geo. F. Trumper. Simply let the puck of soap dry after your morning shave, replace the wooden lid, and store on a shelf or in a cabinet. If your shaving soap does not come with a similar container, you can store it in any bowl or on a standard soap dish. It is important to let your soap puck dry between shaves so that it doesn't grow mold or mildew. Also store your shaving soap in an area that is not prone to extreme temperatures, e.g., away from a window or furnace. Traditional shaving soap pucks will not expire, although the strength of fragrance may lessen over time.
